Non-Destructive Testing
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a technique that detects internal and surface defects—such as their location, size, shape, and distribution—without damaging the material or product. It utilizes the physical interactions between the test object and factors such as sound, light, heat, electricity, magnetism, and radiation. The value of NDT lies in its ability to identify potential defects like cracks at the early stages of damage or even before failure occurs, serving as an early warning system to prevent material failure. Our laboratory’s NDT capabilities are primarily categorized into three areas: optical visual inspection, internal X-ray examination, and acoustic scanning (ultrasonic testing).
